Kerenza Pickett's Music Career

Minty Hindu, Dear Sister & Kerenza's Solo Career

Dear Sister

2021 - 2022

The Dear Sister Story

Reckless, fast-paced, female-fronted. From the depths of Bristol, Dear Sister is true to the ethos of alternative rock, the band summons an array of intense and catchy guitar riffs with waves of sultry pop choruses. Psychologically addicted to the pleasure and pain of creativity, Dear Sister explores the dark and gritty territory of nostalgia and passion through their sound. Bringing to life daydreams of longing away from the toughness of reality.

Taking influences from bands such as; The Pretty Reckless, Halestorm, Evanescence, Deftones, Sleep Token and Beartooth. Assembled by the ex-lead singer of Minty Hindu Kerenza Pickett on vocals and ex-duo member of Attari Rose Jaylaan Simone on rhythm guitar the two are joined by Ike Webster-Bidder on drums and Jamie Sandland on lead guitar and will be playing their first debut gig at the legendary “Crofters Rights” on the 31s

Minty Hindu

2017 - 2021

Minty Hindu's Story

Minty Hindu were an Alternative rock band of teens from Cornwall recently re-located to  Bristol for Uni. We had been together for 3years and released an Ep - Polar Moon and two singles.
They made a fairly big impact on the Alternative Rock scene as they started in Cornwall by recording a lot more of our songs and constantly adding to our gig repertoire.
With all our different music tastes our sound was heavily influenced by bands like; Nirvana, My Chemical Romance, Foo Fighters and Royal Blood, however some of the songs such as ‘Mindset’ followed a much lighter pop punk sound but that’s what made it unique.
We played headlining shows as well as supporting some local acts at some of Cornwall's remarkable venues such as; Princess Pavilions,  Zafiros , Jacob's Ladder, Charlie's bar and many more, as well as playing with some extraordinary acts such as Bonetierd & The Last One Home.
They have also played many gigs outside of Cornwall such as The Rock Steady - London, Ripley Rocks - Surrey and The Cobblestones - Bridgwater, The Louisiana - Bristol as well as just making it through  the final of battle of the bands in Cardiff unfortunately the final was cancelled due to covid.

As well as playing so many unforgettable gigs they were also mentioned by BBC Introducing Devon and Cornwall best gig guide on Multiple occasions and they worked closely with local Cornwall radio stations such as Source fm.
